Surround your students with Spanish language with this 167 word classroom label set! The labels are on plain, white backgrounds to allow you to print them on colored paper, rather than using expensive color printing. There are labels for most anything in your classroom from school supplies like lápices, cuadernos, plumas, tijeras, and carpetas, to standard items in and parts of the classroom like reloj, pared, puerta, ventana, planta, borrador, computadora, cartel, diccionario, pegamento, and engrapadora. Some words have more than one version included to accommodate regional differences, and several words are included in both their singular and plural forms to give flexibility in the classroom. In addition to the very typical classroom items, several words commonly found in Spanish or bilingual classroom settings are included. Examples of these Hispanic culture words are piñata, calavera, castañuelas, esqueleto, toro, and sombrero. Finally, several of the shorter, common words are included twice since you may want to put more than one label on things like silla or suelo.
The download includes a list of suggestions for using the labels.

Your students will love this inquiry based web assignment in which they explore the Spanish department store El Corte Ingles. There are 18 questions or tasks for them to complete, including 2 simple sketches of items that they find on one of the web pages. The majority of the questions deal with clothing and accessories, but there are also a couple questions about electronics and currency to add variety to the activity. The website is entirely in Spanish. Students are instructed to supply answers in Spanish and English. This is a fun activity for partner or individual work and is a great way to incorporate technology, culture, and language into a lesson. Students can use computers, iPads, or other devices, and this makes a perfect self paced substitute lesson plan.
Most questions should apply regardless of changes on the Corte Ingles website. Since there could be changes that would change the answers, however, an answer key has not been included.
